As we sat down to decide who we would nominate for consumer of the year, we knew it would be a tough choice. Over the last year we had the opportunity and the privilege to work with many men and women who strive to put their past behind them, persevere through their barriers and secure employment. Raymond exhibited all this and more from the time he first joined the Easter Seals Goodwill family.

During the three-week Skills for Success workshop, Ray overcame many challenges and was awarded the Having the Heart to Change award. Following the workshop he began the Transitional Employment Program. It was here that he earned the nickname “Reliable Raymond” due to his consistency and flexibility.

Raymond was soon hired as a Material Handler in our Rocky Hill Goodwill store where he continues to work today. Since then his driving privileges have been restored, he has purchased and registered his own car and is actively pursuing an education at Middletown Adult Education. Raymond maintains contact with the staff and continues to build a strong network. CRS Middletown is extremely proud of Raymond and his accomplishments. Congratulations Raymond on being recognized as Consumer of the Year!
