The Taking Initiative Center (TIC) is a drop-in facility that provides a safe place for individuals challenged with substance use disorder who are contemplating or are in the early stages of recovery. Located on Whalley Avenue in New Haven, this inter-agency collaboration offers meals, access to shower and laundry facilities, meditation and recovery groups, and assistance with or referral to employment services, education, social services, and treatment. Participation at the TIC can be the first step on the tough road to recovery
